January 2010 – Auckland to Johannesburg, South Africa - DSH Kitten

Dear George

I am ecstatic to report that I once again have my Mika lying on my bed with me, this time WITH my 5 year old Daschund, Xena. I am still amazed at how well adapted he is.

You'd never know that he went through all of the changes and adventures. Poor thing. The only real difference in him is his appetite. I don't know if it's because he went so longwithout food on the plane or because he's growing so rapidly, but he's eating like crazy!

Xena is still a little weary of Mika - as I don't think she's ever met a cat before - but Mika has absolutely no worries about her. He has his own little corner in my loft, as does she, and he's settled in splendidly.

Now if he can only learn to respond to Afrikaans. Lol!

Thank you so very much for everything George!!! From the first time I emailed you around 7 months ago, right up to the day of his departure from New Zealand you were always the biggest help and I always had the greatest confidence in your company.

Stressful? Yes!
Expensive? Yes!
Worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!
Thank you for getting him back to me safely and soundly and doing it with style.

As for the report back; everything on your and Qantas' part went without a hitch

I've added a few photos which should lighten the mood!

Kindest regards to you and your team at Dogtainers and best of luck for the future,

Chantell M Schmahl

April 2009 – Massey to Dubai, UAE – Tabby Cat

Hi George

Just wanted to let you know that we have both arrived and have managed to get over the jet lag and are actually doing well. Savvy was very keen to get out of the cage and give me a cuddle when we I picked her up at the airport... she happily got wrapped in a blanket and slept in my arms the whole 1.5hr drive home.

The big house the change in weather and her inability to go outside has been a bit of a shock to her so she has been a little scared and unwilling to be playful but that is getting better everyday... one thing for sure is that she seems to have handled to two very long plane rides (with a lot of turbulence) much better than I would have imagined.... I have been very pleasantly surprised at the fact that she can happily see her cage and sniff it and go inside still which means it really wasn't traumatising to her.

Most of that is because of how great your service was. I really appreciate your help in moving her here and most importantly your conversations and explanations on what will happen and what to expect and what to do with her, that made a huge difference and even put me at rest on many occasions (yes it was possible for me to be more stressed out than the day you saw me).

Thank you again for everything, I would highly recommend you to anyone that is thinking of moving their pet from NZ to anywhere.

Savvy thanks you too :)

Regards,
Dunia

September 2007 – Auckland to Dubai, UAE – Golden Labrador

Hi George and Haley (and of course the rest of the team at Dogtainers)

Sending you new years greetings - even though its late. I finally did remember that I was going to send through some pictures of our beloved Sam when I referred you guys to friends back in NZ who are now also moving to sandier pastures.

I can't thank you guys enough - what was an incredibly stressful time for me and the unknowns of shipping Sam, Auckland to Dubai with his age and medical problems were eased with such great efficiency from you both. It's a big ask to send a 15year old Lab who was seriously anemic on a 24hour flight half way round the world. And he travelled really well - arrived in the house 6hours after the plane landed with apologies from DKC for the delay. This was because they had a couple of other drop offs and we were the furthest out in the desert and hence last on the delivery run. Reality is that I probably took about over 4hours to get home from the landing time, aircraft on a remote gate and then bused, through passport and baggage claim and the drive home. Sam was smelly and tired but very glad to see Craig (and me too!) , and the next morning when I arrived I got the biggest waggy tail. Our boy happily settled into life in the desert very quickly and it is with great sadness to tell you that he then couldn't overcome his last health challenge after only 5 weeks here.

Once again, I thank you and please add Sam’s photos to your wall of well travelled pets.

Best regards,
Tracey

October 2008 – Auckland to Doha, Qatar – Fox Terrier

Dear George

As you can see in the photo Frisky arrived safely and happily after her long trip to Doha. She was delivered the day after we arrived and was in great condition - a huge relief for us. She has quickly made herself at home - and already met a few other four-legged friends living in the compound - who like Frisky have done some traveling of their own though Frisky has bragging rights for the furtherest distance travelled.

A huge thank you to you and your staff for the wonderful way you handled Frisky right from the beginning. It was such a relief when we dropped her off before her big flight to see how at ease she was with you and your staff.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to anyone who needs to send their beloved pets abroad! With deepest gratitude and warmest regards, Marguerette, Philip and Isabella.

2005 – New Zealand to Cape Town, South Africa – 3 Pets

Hi Monique

Just to let you know that our babies arrived safe and sound 10.30 pm on the 3rd in Cape Town.

All was well with them and they weathered the flight very well. all documents were there as well as the book. Chaser was at first a bit confused but when he realised that it was us he went totally beserk and could not stop his doggy talk to Jack. In any case, many thanks once again.

All the best,

Well now the kittens have arrived safe and sound I once again want to thank you for your brilliant service once again.

January 2012 - Auckland to Tokyo, Japan - Miniature Poodle

Hi George
Rio has arrived in Japan.
She was very healthy and had good appetite but crying a lot. Now she is getting used to her crate (she is now refusing to go in there now), our house and my parents in Japan and I'm sure she'll do good soon.
I have to say Japanese MAF is quite inefficient. They had to take a copy of vaccination history from beginning which I think it's totally unnecessary and re wrote it on the paper. They had trouble reading english too. Everything was slow there.
But everything went well and Rio is healthy and happy.
Thank you so much George.

Best Regards
Midori

August 2011 – Auckland to Muscat, Oman – Labrador

Hi Helena,
Just a quick note to say that Jake arrived yesterday and seemed none the worse for his journey - or at least seems to have recovered from it as soon as he was let out of his cage! He was understandably very happy to see me and has not let me out of his sight ever since! I hope he is going to be happy here in his new home.

I would really like to thank you - and your whole team - for having made the whole process so smooth and painless; I was initially quite nervous about all the formalities one would have to go through, and it made a huge difference to have your support and expertise behind us. I would definitely recommend your company to any of my friends who might need to go through a similar experience.

I am attaching a pic of Jake in his new home to show you how well he looks.

Thank you once again for all your help!
Ayesha

June 2011 – Auckland to Singapore – British Blue

Jandelle & Michael,
Sorry for the delay in coming back to you both, but things have been incredibly busy for us both and Maggie does not get her email until tomorrow/Saturday.

Well Sam arrived safe and well. He was very docile and was clearly not happy, but better than when he arrived in NZ from the UK. He has also settled a lot quicker this time.

We just wanted to thank you both so very much for all of the professional care and attention that you have provided in looking after, preparing, caring and shipping Sam to Singapore (as well as looking after us, by sending updates and photos!).

I am sure that Sam is really missing his friends at KozzyKrittas and seems to be looking for someone as he explores the apartment!

We shall send you some photos of Sam in his new home once we get a little more organized.

Kind Regards,
Maggie & Tony

May 2011 – Auckland to Guam – 1 Greyhound and 1 Retriever

Good morning, George and Liz, Sorry not to email you earlier, I couldn't reach my husband until yesterday. I am reliefed to hear from my husband that Ice and Monaka arrived safely and both were very well. They didn't soiled at all and seemed like holding 45hours!!! He took them straight to the vets from the airport and got all checked, found no problems. Also the vet has completed all the paperworks and now Ice and Monaka became Guam dogs!! Please see photos of them in our new house in Guam. Amazingly, Ice's cage came out with no single damage!!!! He had not chewed at all and seemed very very relaxed, according to my husband. Thank you sooooo much for supporting us for these 6months. It's been a long long way and we couldn't have make it without you. I will update once I see them in Guam. Kind regards, Fumio

Hi Michael

Apologies for taking so long to write to you, as you can imagine it's been pretty hectic with the arrival of Tai Chi. Anyway, I just wanted to write to you and thank you for arranging the safe shipment of our new family member to Hong Kong.

He arrived on time and all things considered after such a long journey, he was in very good shape and settled very quickly in to his new home.

On behalf of myself and my partner Bonnie, thanks to you and the team for your very kind assistance in this matter.

Very best regards

Lee

June 2010 – Auckland to Hong Kong – 2 Maltese

Hi Michael,

Louis and Charlie have arrived safely in Hong Kong and do not seem at all disturbed by the flight which is great. The collection process was very straight forward and took around 1-2 hours to get them out. Louis had to be chipped and vaccinated for Rabbis, however Charlie did not as he was not yet 5 months old, we have to take him to the vet next month for that.

You obviously took very good care of them for us as they arrived fit and happy, thank you so much for going out of your way to help us, you are a very person kind and we really really appreciate it.

We would be happy to recommend your service to anyone!!

Thanks again,

Kind Regards

Hi Michael,

You will be plsed to know we were able to take Neo and Gypsy out of the cargo section in Mumbai about 3 hours after arrival. They're safe and relaxed now. It is an ordeal however and I'm glad I had my family chasing it down with the right individuals on this end.

I am told that trying to get it done any other way would have been a much more painful excercise with in some cases the dogs been held for up to 4 days......

Definetly recommend spending the money to get good agents in Mumbai for any other client of yours.

Thanks for all the help in this from your end.

Cheers,

Rahul

Hi Michael, Goldie and I have arrived safely in Kuching yesterday. She is fine and healthy. We had to pick her up from the cargo. The vet officer only checked her microchip and let her off. There was a forwarding agent there too. He handled the immigrations forms, cost RM100+.

Goldie's still adapting to the hot weather!

It was nice dealing with you. Thank you for your help. Regards, Linda

February 2009 – Auckland to Singapore – English Bulldog

Hi Michael, Congratulations !! With your professionalism and attention to detail, my bulldog finally made it to Singapore in one piece, very much alive and kicking ! Alfie landed about 12 midnight and was unloaded at 1.30am. I could not clear him on the same night 19 Feb as it was off-duty hours for the AVA boys and no clearance could be done. Had to leave him overnight in the AVI ( AV Inspection ) holding room till 7.40 am today before I could clear. You have taken care of everything so thoroughly and well that I cleared all AVA and other bureaucratic hurdles in less than 1 1/2 hours and there was no question of quarantine raised at all as you had ensured that all the precautions were taken and papers were in good order. Thank you very much for all your help and perseverance in getting Alfie to me. Everything went more smoothly than I could hope for and I am glad you had taken so much trouble to ensure that everything was well taken care of. I was often worried throughout the whole process, but you managed to pull it through. I am very grateful to you for all your efforts and hard work in this bulldog transportation job to Singapore. I will definitely look to use your services again next time I want to import another dog from NZ. Please feel free to contact me if you need help with anything from Singapore. Warm regards, Peter

July 2006 – Wellington to Hong Kong – 2 Tonkinese Kittens

Dear Rod and George Just to let you know that Mimi and Issey are doing great. They have fallen in love with Sebastian and are often found cuddled up together very happily. They arrived in tip top shape and after the initial shock and the unexpected flying lessons off the first balcony are doing very well. Our new vet Dr David dropped by on Monday and pronounced them in perfect health. They are now socialising well with all members of the family but are probably closest to myself and my daughter Lily. Rod I seem to be having a few issues with my camera at the moment but will send you some pictures of the girls as soon as possible. To both of you I would like to express my gratitude for your patience and persistence in getting the new members of our family to us safe and sound. We are now complete. Many thanks Fenella

November 2005 – Auckland to Larnaca, Cyprus – Border Collie

A quick note to say thank you for all of your assistance in moving Max to his new home in Cyprus. I checked with the ground crew in Melbourne during our stopover there and all was in order. Max made it to Dubai in good shape -in fact he probably had an easier time of the journey than we did. His transfer to Larnaca went without a hitch and he and Rebecca are now settled in and enjoying their new surroundings. The ground crew at Emirates in Dubai and the Dubai Kennel and Cattery staff were through professionals and added to a successful journey for the wee fella. Thanks once again for your preparation. George, I have only one other request. Can you please find out the email address for the supervisor of Mark Rainbow at Emirates Cargo in Auckland? I did get it from him prior to departure but have misplaced it en route -Mark's number is 256 8305- as I really want to make a fuss of him for going the extra mile for Max. Many thanks once again George, we look forward to working with you again in the future. Karl

October 2005 – Auckland to Mumbai, India – Cocker Spaniel

Dear George & Wendy, Yes, we're here, in good ol' Bombay, with Pepper who arrived in top notch condition. We arrived at 5.30pm, Bombay time and by 8pm, he was cleared by customs. He came out of his crate, a wee bit dazed but in under 5 minutes, was his bright self, investigating the smorgasboard of smells coming from all directions. Priya and I say THANKS to both of you, for your help in the saga of Pepper's transportation, which we hope has smoothened the way for future travellers wishing to bring their dog/s to India. George, it was great doing business with you and thank you for all your help, throughout. All the best from Priya, Pepper and me. Savio

March 2012 - Kerikeri to Sydney, Australia - Jack Russell X

Hi Liz
Tom and I arrived eventually- at least I had no trouble but poor Tom was kept for three hours while my sister and I waited for him to get a customs clearance. It was after 1 when we left Sydney, after seven by the time we reached Ariah Park where we must stay for the next three months. We'd not stopped for even a drink so were ready to make something to eat and drink, fall into bed and hope that we didn't have to get up too early.
I hope that you've managed to have your replacement day to make up for your long working week? I am so very grateful to you for your cheerful helpfulness and extremely competent help in getting Tom and I to our destination. I do wish that we had you to organise our return.
Do take care of yourself!! We hope we'll see you in the not too distant future.
Thanks again - Dawn Walton (and Tom).

Everyone arrived safe and sound. I don't know if all the tail wagging meant they were happy to see me or happy to be out of their crates, I'll tell myself it was the former. Thanks for all your help and organisation. It was great. I hope the dogs weren't too stessed out and grumpy for George.
Thanks again,

Just a quick note to let you know that Zac arrived safely and in good health and was of course very pleased to see my wife. Just heard from her. She only had to wait an hour or so for him to clear Customs/AQIS etc and the fee was only $77. They allowed the blanket in too, which was nice.
So, all’s well and a successful trip. Thanks once again for all you did to make it trouble free.
Kind regards, Jeremy

September 2011 – Auckland to Perth, Australia – DMH Cat

Dogtainers were absolutely wonderful to work with. They took care of all the little details, which was a huge help, especially when packing to move overseas. All my questions were answered in a professional and knowledgeable way, from enquiry stages, until the departure day. Hayley was especially helpful and easy to deal with, which aided my decision to book with Dogtainers. The cat cage they provide is bigger than other companies (yet not too big) so was more comfortable for my cat Minxy. It's easy to look at the financial side when comparing quotes, but I would definitely use Dogtainers again and recommend them to anyone. The small difference in price was most definitely worth it. Minxy and I really appreciated their outstanding service, professionalism and commitment.

August 2011 – Auckland to Melbourne, Australia – 2 x Cavalier Poodle X

Hi Hayley,
Unfortunately I have been unwell and have not had a chance to load photos or let you know before today that Bucko and Sooty are fine and well.
We arrived way too early to collect Bucko and Sooty – so we had a long wait, due to the flight being delayed and racing back and forth to Customs and Toll.
They enjoyed their drive home with their faces out the car window.... I have a lovely picture of Bucko ears flying in the breeze leaving Melbourne airport on my phone as soon as I load it up I will send you the picture.
Thanks again for providing a quality service that delivered my highly anxious dog (Bucko) to me alive and well :) Sooty is well and fortunately does not have the same anxiety condition her father has (thank goodness).
Will get some photos to you soon.
Thank you again.
Cheers,
Val

August 2011 – Auckland to Brisbane, Australia – Curly Coated Retriever

Hi Hayley - Boris is in sunny, warm Queensland happy as larry! My husband picked him up from the airport and the first sight of him was his crate on the forklift and Boris was just lying down in his crate, not stressed at all.

He was extra happy to see Nick thou - and have Mcdonalds as a treat haha! He went down to our local beach on Saturday morning, and swam after a huge turtle in the water - what a sight! Don't think he locals will be happy with that thou, but we found it very amusing. As long as he keeps away from the crocs, stingers and sharks!!!

Anyway thank you SO much for all your help and loving care towards Boris. When we make the journey home in a few years time we won't hesitiate to use you again to get Boris back.

Have a good week,
Kind regards,
Fiona, Nick and Boris :

July 2011 – Hawkes Bay to Perth, Australia – Blue Heeler

Hi Helena,

Thank you so much for the email to let us know how Dingo is faring.

Glad that Geordie was no trouble and it sounds like he wangled his usual charm with you - should have been on a farm working hard but seems to have landed lifestyles of the rich and famous.

We are all so excited about having him in our family again! He is a total sweetheart and it is nice to know he was not languishing in a cage waiting for his plane ride....he is a very social beast having grown up in our household of seven kids and constant attention!

Thank you again for all the help. It has been so straight forward having you organise his journey to Perth. We will let you know how he is enjoying Perth.

Kind Regards
Rachel

June 2011 – Wellington to Rarotonga, Cook Islands – 1 Border Collie X Bearded Collie

Hi Helena,

sorry for delay in getting back to you - was a long night got home at 2.30am and Geordie was settled and asleep in 10 mins, however our kids aren't quite as well behaved and co-operative as Geordie! - So not much sleep and Mondays are always full noise.

Glad that Geordie was no trouble and it sounds like he wangled his usual charm with you - should have been on a farm working hard but seems to have landed lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Was easy collection with no drama's at all here in Raro - he seemed pretty calm and as relaxed as you could really expect after his travel but was very pleased to see us.

He's been cruising around the farm land and getting acquainted with the local dogs and seems very much at home back with the kids and ourselves. He's spending plenty of time on the cold tiled floors and seems that he's already on Island time.

I must confess though that he is letting off some rather unpleasant gas as even he is turning up his nose and moving to another spot!

Thanks for all your help and we're so pleased it's panned out well for him.
Kind Regards
Tracey

June 2011 – Wanganui to Hobart, Australia – 2 Burmese Kittens

Hi Hayley,

That's great service follow up!

I just wanted to thank you for everything that you have done for me.

They were good!! Blue girl quite relaxed given the journey and came out to say hello straight away, brown boy bit reluctant at first, but just great as soon as he got home, beautiful babies and looked dry, comfortable and very well, I think separating them was an excellent idea and all is well.

Nothing I can think of to improve service I was very impressed and would use you again!

Thanks
Regards
Tracey

They have settled in well to their new home in Perth :)

May 2011 – Nelson to Brisbane, Australia – Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Hi Hayley,

Chester is here now.... he went beserk when he saw us! It was a very emotional re-union for all of us :)

I would just like to say how impressed Pete and I have been with the service you have provided at Dogtainers. It was well worth paying just that little bit extra for your first class service! I did research other pet transport companies but their friendliness, helpfulness, professionalism and passion for animal wellfare was nowhere near the standard of your own. We will certainly be telling other pet owners in NZ about your excellent service.

Thankyou so much for looking after our precious ginger boy!!

Kind Regards, Christine and Peter

May 2011 – New Plymouth to Perth, Australia – DSH Cat

Hi George,

Wow this has taken some time but I did say I would let you know how our trip went. I found Dogtainers were the best because of the care factor given.

George Thomas was just wonderful with his care and compassion and his knowledge that he gave us. From the start, George spent endless time with me making sure I and Rascal would be happy and reassured so we both would enjoy our trip, so I would not be worried and not enjoy my trip as well. He took me through step by step the process and kept me informed all the way. Dogtainers supplied the travel cage to me, a month before our journey was to start so Rascal was able to get use to her cage, as she had never been transported in a cage previously. She had always travelled freely in our vehicle anywhere. She took to her cage within a matter of a couple of hours where I found her asleep and happy, so no worries there. George took me through the steps of getting vet clearance within 72 hours of travel and what forms I had to have filled in. Not a step was missed and George rang me to say everything was in order and that all I needed to do was make sure we got on the plane at New Plymouth on time. (lol as usual I am known for being late, I wasn’t this time).

I also made sure Rascal went into a Cattery after I had the vet check done before we travelled; mainly so she didn’t get upset seeing all the baggage and turmoil of the last couple of days as I finished my last packing arrangements. I use Julie and Paul Roe at Felines on Frankley, New Plymouth, for this as they are just awesome with the cats and Rascal has stayed there many times before happily. I picked Rascal up at the early hour of 5:30am from the cattery which Julie was happy to accommodate for me.

Rascal travelled from New Plymouth as excess luggage to Auckland as this was the cheapest way to fly her domestically (Approximately $50). We just let the airline know we were travelling with a cat on my ticket. I could here her in the back of the plane meowing away quite happily (I was seated near the back of the plane). She is a very talkative cat and has a loud meow, people on the plane were asking did we have a cat aboard it was quite funny but she was happy.

I arrived in Auckland where I picked Rascal up from the baggage terminal (my bags were checked right through but you can not do this with an animal; they have to be handed over by a pet transport agency to the airline) and was met by George who then took Rascal and I back to their office so I was reassured that Rascal was happy and being looked after. I have photos of Rassie having a wander around there office and feeling totally at home jumping onto there computer keyboard and sending a fax lol. I was contacted from George when Rascal was taken to our plane and assured she was happy and settled. I also had a flight attendant on Air NZ confirm she was on the plane and settled. (Note that I didn’t need to worry the whole trip although as per normal I do admit to just slightly but needlessly).

When I arrived in Perth, I had Chris from the Perth Branch of Dogtainers pick Rascal up from Air freight as this was part of requirements because Rascal needed an overnight stay at the Dogtainers cattery until we could fly the next day to Karratha. I had arranged that I wanted to see Rascal (this was not an option) after she came off the Auckland to Perth flight before she went with to her overnight accommodation so we could all be reassured that everything was OK.

Rascal was fine, happy and in full voice letting me know that she was as happy to see me as I was her. She was clean and dry and there were no issues. She stayed in her own igloo type of accommodation for the night where she had her own space and room to move around; not in her travel cage; which I have heard can happen. Rascal requires a special diet and this was attended to as well.

I was able to go to my motel knowing I could have a good night sleep knowing Rascal was in good hands. Again Nicky from Dogtainers kept me totally informed of everything I needed to know.

I had to meet Dogtainers at Air Express the next day, to present a very happy Rascal in her flight cage ready for her last leg of the journey from Perth to Karratha. This flight again, Rascal went as excess luggage because it was a domestic flight and cost approximately $50.

We were able to pick Rascal up from Air Express on our arrival and found her to still be in a very happy but slightly bemused state as to why she was in totally different surroundings.

For the next couple of days Rascal was really funny getting used to her new surroundings inside, (she was not allowed outside without being on a lead as we did not want her to disappear and get lost). She did have a bit of an upset tummy for a couple of days as she got used to her surroundings and slightly different foods; (customs would not let me bring in Rascals cat biscat treats as they contained beef and chicken; the tinned food was okay because it was fish only. To this day I am still bemused as to why because it was processed food and had been imported into NZ.)

Well we have been here a year now and Rascal is totally happy here, she deals with the real hot days by sleeping in the air conditioning and spends the rest of the time outside in the tropics chasing geckos and the occasional bird (oops, sssh I shouldn’t say that). We do not let her outside after dark due to snakes of which she has had one nasty but very lucky encounter and there are other cats around which rascal does not take to lightly to wandering through her territory; Yes she has made our home her territory therefore out of bounds to other cats.

All in all a trip that was made very easy for us both, by a very caring and compassionate team who made sure they understood our needs and fulfilled them.

By the way I have not mentioned that Rascal is a 15 year old cat and therefore this could have been a very risky, traumatic journey for her had it not been for the wonderful team that looked after her all the way.

Thank you and I would have no issues in recommending your teams to others considering transporting their pets (family members) as well safely. I would also happily use your companies again if the need ever arises.
Kind regards and many thanks for our wonderful care
Sheree Anderson and Rascal

Ps: just to let you know we are recommending you to our friends who have asked for some pet transport information.

April 2011 – Wellington to Sydney, Australia – 3 Labrador X’s

Hi Liz,

Yeah, all went beautifully smoothly, thanks to all of your hard work! The only issue we had (if you can even call it that) was that Duchess once again got all protective of her brother and sister and was growling at people in the freight terminal at Sydney just before we picked them up.

Sorry I hadn't gotten back to you yet, but I was waiting to get a chance to get some photos of the pups in their new environments.

They're settling in very well, especially Duchess and Crocs, who I actually think remember Australia, or at least the smells etc. They all seem to have also settled very well now that the family is back together again. Already we've got two main walks, on the weekends we walk them a few km to a massive park down the road where they have a pup playgroup which generally means nine of them chasing a single ball. Milo is horrified to learn that in such situations speed alone doesn't always win the day. On the week days I take them on a bush walk, as we're lucky enough to have the start of a 15km bush circuit literally 40m from our the end of our driveway. They LOVE all of the new smells out there. I also take Milo on longer runs on this, but as yet he hasn't seen a kangaroo. We did actually get very close to one a few days back - a massive 8-9 foot tall one that was about 10m off the side of the track. It scared the hell out of me, but Milo was preoccupied looking at something else at the time, so didn't see it. Dunno was his response will be when he does, but hopefully he doesn't follow the cat over the road that I saw do one of the funniest things ever a few days back. A big roo was just on the side of the bush, about 20m from the edge of the house this cat lives at. The cat came out of the house's driveway, saw the roo, and did the hunker down-wag bottom pre-pounce manoeuvre that cats do. Talk about optimism!

Hope all is well (and I will send pics when I get some), Ky

April 2011 - Tauranga to Port Vila, Vanuatu - Labradoodle Pup

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that Charlie has arrived here in Vanuatu safe and sound. His flight was delayed by an hour so he has had a long day and was a bit shocked when he first arrived. Once home he quickly became acquainted with his new family - the children x 3 (adoring fans - see below), the chickens x 10 (fun to chase) and Bobby the cat (gave a swat on the nose to show who's boss). He worked out right away that I am mum and has been firmly placed under my feet ever since - even when I took a shower! He has already Skyped his grandparents in Australia too! He is adorable and very sweet and we all wanted to thank you so much for helping us adopt him.

Kate.

April 2011 – Auckland to Perth, Australia - Lhasa Apso

Hi Lizzie, just a quick note to let you know that Bosco flew perfectly well and seemed pretty happy and relaxed when we arrived in Perth. He's loving his new house and particularly the dog beach round the corner.

Thanks again for all your help and for coming into work on journey day off!

Take care, Matt and Bosco.

March 2011 – Weymouth to Liku, Niue – 1 Shar Pei and 1 French Mastiff

Hi Helena,

They arrived well and seemingly unstressed, which was more than I could say about us with the waiting and not being able to see them or get near them until the entire airport had basically been cleared so we could access the customs area and see our beautiful boy and girl. They were just as pleased to see us as well. Happy wagging and whimpering ...and that was just us :-)

I can say the whole thing went basically smoothly from this end, the DAFF officer New Testament seemed a little over the top when we meet him there and gave us what felt like 3rd degree before suddenly saying we could take them and then disappeared into the sunset leaving us with the crates and dogs???? all a bit strange...

Further - after the full 'if your dogs look sick and the plane is on the tarmac they will be sent straight back to NZ or get a bullet' speech from New Testament, (what kind of a name is that anyway?) he then did the big 'I have been on training courses and I know how to inspect dogs' speech. NANO seconds from being allowed near Max and Mya he came out with 'both dogs are sterile arn't they, not allowed dogs in Niue that have not been neutered'. Plane had left, so our answer was 'yes' - after his training, how did he miss the big appendages hanging off the back of Max when he did his inspection????

Was there anything about neutering on the documentation? (NT held our documents for the vet to see?).

Other than that - great to have our babies home, thanks so much for your efforts and caring for them - you guys were not the cheapest quote we had, but it was definitely your attitude towards our dogs that got Dogtainers our contract.

Many thanks Mark and Donna

Hi Helena, Jack and Myah were clean and happy to see me. Sam had made a mess of his cage but he was very very very happy to see me when I took him out at home. Took a while to get them after they landed, about 9.30 by the time i left with them. They are all happy at home if not a little hot due to the weather. Thanks again for you service, was a pleasure dealing with you. Jen February 2011 – Beach Haven to Bribie Island, Australia - Blue Heeler

Thanks for making her time in the kennel and flight work so well. We think the cage will become a nice retreat for her in our new place.

November 2010 - Dunedin to Brisbane, Australia - Labrador X

Dear Hayley, We all arrived safe and sound on the 23/11 in Brisbane. Tui wasn't very happy but it was so good to see her in ther other end. The painful part was the 12 hours drive in the next day from Brisbane to Airlie Beach!! I tell you...that was really hard but we made in one day!!

November 2010 – Auckland to Melbourne, Australia - Shar Pei X

Hi Hayley,

Sorry for the delay, Jed made it to Melbourne safe and sound – THANK YOU

We had to go back to the airport after about an hour to pick him up. Mark said that he was MOST EXCITED to see him, almost broke his cage wagging his tail. He has settled in really well here and loves his new house mate (a lovely cavalier king Charles spaniel called Toffee).

Mark and I are very pleased with the service we received from Dogtainers and yourself in particular. You took a huge chunk of the panic in moving a pet out of the situation and we are grateful.

We’ve attached a picture of Jed for you and the team.

Kind regards Michelle, Mark, Sharise, Slade and Jed xo

November 2010 - Auckland to Coolangatta, Australia - Shih Tzu

Hi there, We have finally got internet access and was wanting to let you know we safe and sound. Tizz managed ok I think, as soon as she saw us she just lay on my knee and slept so she must have stayed awake most of the trip. She has settled real well and the airplane trip didnt seem to affect her much at all. So thankyou for all your help, we really appreciate it and will recommend you to anyone we might hear wanting to travel with pets :-) Rachel

November 2010 – Auckland to Perth, Australia - Rhodesian Ridgeback

Good Morning Hayley We have our Sala here, safe and well, she is very happy and very lively and already seems to be right at home. The plane got in a little earlier than expected, just after 4.30pm but customs and quarantine didn't release Sala and another two puppies until close to 7.30pm, no harm done and she didn't appear stressed from her experience.

Hayley, I would like to thank you and Dogtainers New Zealand for the very efficient and professional way that you have handled the transport of our new puppy Sala from Auckland to Perth, Australia. I am so glad that my friend recommended you to me. The service that you provided was first class, from the very first conversation that I had with you, right through to Sala's safe arrival. You told me that she would arrive bright eyed, happy and waggy tailed and that is exactly how she did arrive. Thanks again to you Hayley and Dogtainers for a fantastic experience. Carole Hooper Roleystone, Western Australia.

November 2010 - Auckland to Perth, Australia - 2 DSH Cats

October 2010 – Auckland to Brisbane, Australia - Australian Terrier

HI Hayley Just thought I’ll let you know that Biscuit (as you said) arrived very happy, soooo excited to see me, wanted to bite my hand off! The guy who handed him over to me thought he was so excited that he would run away.

Anyway, he was not too happy to get in the cage again for the flight from Brisbane to Mackay, but he sat quietly in there when I closed the door. Once we got to Mackay, he had enough of the cage, it was hot though, and he just wanted to be on my lap in the car!

Thank you so much again for all you advise, encouragement and help. You provided excellent service and I will recommend you to everyone I know.

Thanks a lot, much appreciated. Natasja

October 2010 - Tauranga to Brisbane, Australia - DSH Cat

October 2010 - Christchurch to Melbourne, Australia – 2 Dogs and 1 Cat Hey Hayley,

Happy New Year!!

I am so sorry its taken me this long to email you but its just been full on go go go since we got here.

Simba, Kobe and Eek arrived safe and happy. It was weird seeing them being bought out on a forklift but i guess they had to lift the dogs somehow. Toll Donata were not really that helpful to be honest and some how expected me to get the dogs and cat off this high dock with only some ladder type steps. i had to ask them to clear another doorway so i could walk the dogs out.

But you were brilliant Hayley and i felt so good when I saw my babies faces. they have all settled into melbourne life and we have a good dog beach not too far from where we live so Simba and Kobe love going there. I have attached couple of photos for you.

Thank you again and Hope that you are well and that 2011 is a brilliant year for you Sharon & Jase

October 2010 – Bulls to Papetee, French Polynesia - German Shepherd Pup

Hi Hayley, Just letting you know that Fakar has arrived safely and has been cleared through MAF there. Carole spent the night with him at the airport and was able to feed him and top up his water. She wasn't able to let him out though as she had to wait for the vet to break the seal and clear him this morning. She said he was clean and hadn't messed in his cage. He was bursting when he got out but what a good boy to hang on so long. So, all is now complete. Thanks for great service and hope to talk again soon. Cheers Lorraine

October 2010 - Auckland to Perth, Australia - DSH Cat

Hi Michael, Thank you for all your help with Yogi our cat, he arrived well and has settled in know it took a few days for him to come around but i guess it is a big ordeal for a pet to fly etc.

Your service at Dogtainers is of the highest quality and service, we will recommend you and will certainly use you again with no hesitation should we require your services.

Thank you again for all your help Michael and all those involved at Dogtainers well done. Regards

October 2010 – Auckland to Apia, Samoa - German Shorthaired Pointer

Good Morning Michael,

Just a very quick but hearty thank you for all that you and the team did for us in taking care of Bru's transportation to Samoa.

A slightly longer journey for him as his a/c had to divert to TBU with an engineer and spare parts to fix the a/c that we were on. Consequently he arrived a couple of hours before us, but the team in APW took good care of him.

We picked him up at the airport without a hitch.

Thanks again and best regards

Christina Guthrie

September 2010 – Auckland to Brisbane, Australia - Old English Sheepdog

Hi Hayley Apologies for the lengthy delay in sending you some photos of Jack. We have been going non stop since our arrival here and are only now getting around to doing much needed paperwork. As promised here are some photos of Jack. The first is in his show coat. His full name is Champion Brinkley Jack The Lad. The second is of Derek & Jack in front of a Kauri Tree outside Warkworth Museum. And the 3rd was taken strolling along Snells Beach. You are most welcome to use any of these on your website. Jack has happily settled into his new home and has become a beach boy at Golden Beach just loving his twice daily strolls along the esplanade and seeking adoration from all he meets particularly the children. We really appreciated the service that all at Dogtainers gave us and particularly to you and Helena for making the move to Australia so easy for us. So again a big thank you from us. With best regards to you all Suzette & Derek Silk

September 2010 - Nelson to Gold Coast, Australia - 2 Crossbreed Dogs and 4 DSH Cats

HI Helena We all arrived safely. I watched them load pets onto the international flight from the gate lounge so knew they were on the right flight with me! Went to pick them up as soon as I cleared customs and they were already there and they could see and hear me whilst a vet had a quick peer at them from outside their cages, then went off to lodge the paperwork and clearance came through maybe 20 mins later and we were able to take them home. Dogs coped brilliantly, cats were shellshocked, but hadn't soiled cages! Looking forward now to everyone well and truely settling in! Thanks again for making it a smooth trip. Sabine and Brood!

September 2010 – Auckland to Melbourne, Australia - 2 DSH Cats

Morning Helena I thought that I would let you know that Mercedes and Dolores arrived well and healthy albeit initially some what freaked out. However, they have settled in well and are madly pacing the house wanting to go outside. Thank you so much for such a job well done. I do appreciate the time and energy put in to ensure that they travel as well as they can. regards Meryl

September 2010 - Auckland to Melbourne, Australia - 2 DSH Cats

Hi Hayley I just wanted to say thanks so much to you and Dogtainers for getting our fur babies (Neko & Scooby) across to Melbourne to their new home. Both boys travelled really well, and while they were pretty keen to get out of their cages, they settled straight away. We were really surprised as Neko is usually such a big woosey but he was just fine!

Thanks for the great service, we would definately recommend you to others planning on shipping their pets overseas. Many thanks for reuniting our family :) Annette, Terry, Neko & Scooby

September 2010 – Auckland to Sydney, Australia - 2 DSH Cats

HI Hayley,

August 2010 - Auckland to Brisbane, Australia - DLH Cat

Dear Hayley, So I picked up the cage last night, I love that you have put Cussy's name on it, can you do me a sticker to travel with with 'My name's Sara, make mine a Vodka?" I can't thank you enough for your stunning service to date, I also can't believe that I only emailed a quote request on Wednesday and by Thursday night you have sorted everything we both need to do to get my fur-person home. Even Brett has been contacted at home as to how to pick her up should I miss the plane, or get stuck in customs or whatever. I am very impressed and thrilled that you have made this difficult time for me so much easier, couldn't've done it without you and Dogtainers.

Thanks again, talk soon

Sara

July 2010 – Auckland to Brisbane, Australia - Bichon Frise

Hi Liz,

We collected Prada this morning and were so impressed as she seemed to have enjoyed her flight without any problems. I was quite emotional as I have not seen her for 4 months, and was so happy that she was completely calm and hadn't seemed to spoil her cage.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Hayley as both my mum and myself found her so easy to deal with - she explained in detail exactly what we needed to do every step of the way through the entire process.

I can't tell you how happy Kevin and I are both to finally have her here with us! I can assure you that once we decide to head back to NZ in a few years, we won't even consider going through any other pet transport company.

Thank you again for your support and dedication to making Prada's trip easy - even though I was up last night worrying, there was obviously no need.

Kind regards, Denise

April 2010 – Auckland to Sydney, Australia – 2 Dogs and 3 Cats

Hi Hayley I finally have some time to give you a proper update of how the kids arrived, and to say thanks. We arrived at the terminal a bit early (rather be early than late) and saw them coming over from the plane into the DHL building - so that was very exciting to see them in their cages and know immediately that they were alive and well. We then had to wait about 2.5 hours for them to go through all of the customs clearances etc - they explained that there were some long delays at customs. there were no problems - we were just impatient to see them again! Finally, we got the OK to come and get them. As soon as they saw us the boys were so excited, they were so happy to see us again, it was amazing. They were both looking great - just a little tired, but seemed very comfortable in their cages, which had lots of space and no messes at all. The cats also had heaps of room and, of course being cats, were not exactly happy to be there, but didn't seem too scared, and as soon as they saw us they started meowing and rubbing up against the cage for pats, and very obviously pleased to see us too. We took the boys outside for a pee (they didn't seem to be busting, and just wanted to sniff around, so that's good), and then loaded up the car and ute and took them home. They all had a big drink once they got home, and I let them all sniff around and get settled before I gave them some food. After their lunch they all fell asleep, so I guess it must have been a long day for them with the early start! I was really impressed with how quickly the cats have settled - they spent about half an hour exploring inside then started demanding to be let out to explore the garden - it was like they had forgotten about the whole flight already. They keep going outside to explore a bit, then come running in to tell me all about it, get some rubs and cuddles and then go out again for some more fun. Now they have all settled in so well - of course they are all following us around every where we go, so no matter what we are doing there are three cats and two dogs with us - trying to cook dinner, having a shower, putting out the rubbish. It so great to have them all together again, and even though our house is still empty of furniture, it feels so much more like home now our 5 kids are with us. We both want to thank you for the huge effort you and the rest of the team there put in to get our kids over. During the whole process we were never stressed or worried about anything because we knew we could trust you completely to have their best interests in mind. I don't think we totally appreciate how much it took to get them all over at the same time and so smoothly, as it seemed so simple from our end - just show up to pick them up - so thanks so much for making it that easy for us. It was really great to get the regular updates of how everything was progressing and also how the kids were. Also please pass on our huge thanks to your parents for housing Spatz and Jasper - they clearly enjoyed it and again it was something we never needed to worry about because we knew they were in safe hands. Once our furniture arrives, I will send you some pics of the kids in their new home! Thanks again Claire Newton

February 2010 – Tauranga to Perth, Australia - 2 German Shepherd Pups

Hi Hayley, Both girls have arrived safe and sound here in Perth West Oz. Once again we thank you so very much for all of your help and support in getting them here, you have made the process all that much easier. Thank you so much for your service, you truly went above and beyond answering everyone of my many emails. Thank you for making sure that our girls were well looked after from start to finish. We would highly recommend you; not only for your service but on your price too, your quote was the best from many sought after.

August 2009 – Auckland to Port Vila, Vanuatu – 2 Border Collies

Dear Michael, Thank you so much for everything. The two dogs arrived all fine and well. Happy smiling faces (if a bit panting from the new heat) Rae heard Vegas barking as the plane took off and climbed then she obviously went to sleep. Then as the plane descended she barked again. Roger Phillips, head vet in Vanuatu, was delighted with both and said that they travelled very well. Spotty will have air miles by now. Thanks so much for everything and all you did to help and make the entire process easy. I highly recommend you. Anything I can do this end to help other transports to Vanuatu let me know as I can help. Thanks again Michael

August 2009 – Auckland to Perth, Australia – Jack Russell

Hi Hayley and team, Thank you so very much for the safe delivery of my doggy back in August (sorry it has taken me so long to send this email!). Tungsten is settling in very well and just wants to sniff everything and well, pee on everything too - to put his NZ 'stamp' on it. I just wanted to write to say thank you for making the whole experience stress free and easy. Every step was fully detailed and the information reasily assessable in all the information you gave us. You also swiftly replied to any emails and were SO friendly. Thank you very very much!! You must have a very rewarding job! Kind regards

Sharn May 2008 - Rotorua to Perth, Australia – 2 Shar Pei’s

Hi Haley and George

It’s been nearly a month since we arrived and I apologies not getting this email off to you sooner. Firstly we would like to THANK YOU both for your time your co-operation your compassion with animals and making sure my two babies were taken care of from departure to when they arrived. When we first started looking for information on how to get our two dogs to Perth we were uneasy most of all it was the HOW? and WHAT? and WHEN? all the unbeknown questions and just by a coincidence that Irwin drove by your location of business like a bright star in a sky that gave us a sense of relief. Your warm kindness your vast knowledge and information were clear and precise easy to follow "you have to be completely dumb founded if you couldn't" it made the process so crystal clear. On the day of boarding I got the opportunity from window to see them being loaded onto plane I was like mother hen frantic that the sounds and the roar of the plane may frighten them and then when we were seated on the plane I was constantly thinking whether or not they had enough water and what about the temperature in cargo so you see I was a bit uneasy going over. On arrival the process of getting them out was a breeze we only had to wait for cargo to be unloaded approx time 15 min the front desk she was very pleasant I could hear all the noises of the animals in the back all wanting to see their owners as the guy brought forward our two dogs in their crates on a forklift they were so calm and contented. When we open their crates it was clean the water bowls were full of cause movement of forklift there were spillages but most of all they weren't even one bit upset "I know if they were" there would be signs of shivering, scratching like mad to get out and barking consistently and I can honestly say they showed no signs of stress they thoroughly enjoyed their venture ride and found a patch of grass to christen their new country!! I thought I add a pic of them in our truck their favourite pass time going for a ride. Cheers to you Haley and George "TWO THUMBS UP" it was a pleasure meeting you both. All the best. Irwin & Tracey Perth WA July 2006 – Botany to Perth, Australia - Maltese Dear George, We were absolutely thrilled to get our Buddy back today, and very impressed with the good care he had regarding his flight, and pre-flight care. He arrived very well and happy, and of course very excited to see us! He was dry, and calm, a totally different dog to the one that arrived the previous time when he came from Aus to NZ, when he was stressed and shivering. Thanks so much George, we are delighted, and would definately recommend your company to any of our friends or colleagues freighting their animals from NZ. Our grateful thanks again, Bob and Jean, and Buddy. 2005 – Melbourne – 1 Rottweiler, 1 Jack Russell, 1 DSH Cat Shipping of Shayla, Ralf, & Panther to Melbourne, Australia. Choosing a broker to ship our 2 dogs and 1 cat across the Tasman proved to be an extremely easy decision. George was quick to respond to my email inquiry (it took a range of other brokers several days) and answered all my initial queries immediately. Giving that I contacted George only with the possibility of us moving at the beginning of this year, he was very accommodating and helpful with cost estimations etc. Further email contact was responded to with equal efficiency. After the decision to move this year, we organised to meet George with the 2 dogs for cage measurement etc. They say first impressions last and we honestly couldn’t have been happier to leave our animals in George’s care after the way he immediately introduced himself and befriended Shayla (our 50kg Rottweiler). It was quite obvious that Shayla was at ease with George as too was Ralf (our 5kg Jack Russell. Dogtainers’ service was simply outstanding. We paid the money and George & Monique did the rest. MAF certification, collection of the animals from the kennels they were in, liaising with the airline and quarantine officials etc. We are very impressed with the effort that George & Monique put into accommodating not only our needs but those of our animals too. Shipment day provided some challenges. The airline made a change to a smaller aircraft for the flight (a 767 was originally rostered) at short notice and not until loading time did it become apparent that Shayla’s cage wouldn’t fit through the cargo door. Obviously frustrating and upsetting for us to be advised that our ‘babies’ wouldn’t arrive in Melbourne as planned but George dealt with the situation well, providing his office for sleeping quarters overnight and our animals arrived 18 hours later safe and well. Thank you George & Monique for an outstanding service. Although we ourselves will be unlikely to be offering you repeat business with these 3 animals (a major relocation is the kind of thing you don’t do every week), we would have no hesitation in recommending you to anybody we know who plans to ship their animals internationally.

Yours gratefully, Jamie & Jane

Fiji Miniature Schnauzer Just to let you know we have picked up Brynny after a week in quarantine. He was a little distressed when we got hom but is settling down well to Fijian life and am so pleased to have him here. Thanks to you all Bronwyn

Labrador / Ridgeback Hi George, zThanks for your help in getting Beks to Rarotonga. She was fine with the cage on the plane. Having gotten her use to cage for a month it made it as stress free as it could be. She was being offloaded from the plane as I came down steps. As soon as she saw me the tail started playing her drum on the side of her cage. It did take an hour to get her released from Raro customs most of that was getting the right person to sign the release form. The cage was as clean as when we put her in it at Auckland airport. Beks is home with my wife, she is a very happy much loved dog. The only thing we need to train her not to do is not to chase the chickens. Many Thanks, Bernie Keenan

Tonga Chihuahua George: Short note to say hi – Tanzy is settling in well and is a joy to our hearts. Comes to work every day with me (she is in quarantine at my office) and is loved by all, including my son who wasn’t real thrilled at the idea of a “pussy dog”. A fussy eater – only likes the best like her owner. Loves to chew on pig snouts – those dried things you buy at the pet store. By for now. Trust you received your money OK. regards Dianne Warne

April 2012 - Auckland to Nassau, The Bahamas via LAX - Shih Tzu

Sorry for the delay in getting in touch, just want to say a big THANK YOU for helping Wozbee get to LA - she was perfectly content and "normal"" when we collected her from Qantas Cargo at LAX. She had a good car journey to Texas and we stayed in some lovely pet-friendly motels; and she even got to fly in the cabin with us from Houston to Nassau! She is settling in very happily chasing geckos in the yard and still prefers to sleep in her travel-crate than anywhere else! Nice to see her picture in the gallery :)

Hi Helena, Michael, George and Liz
Just a quick note for the moment to let you know that Gus and Flora are now safely back in the U.S.

We will e-mail you photos in the next few days of Gus and Flora in their new home. It sounds like Gus has already swum in the pool at our new house.... Flora enjoys basking in the sun.
Thanks again, and will be back to you in a couple of days or so.

January 2012 – Auckland to Los Angeles, USA - Cocker Doodle

Hi Helena
i just wanted to thank you very much for the excellent service we got from you and dogtainers and to say Tui was in fab shape when she got here and has fitted in so well. She didn't go to the lou in her box at all, in fact Peter who picked her up thinks she didn't drink any water the whole journey. He said she was exhausted when she got here so knowing her she may have stayed awake waiting to get out, funny wee thing that she is. anyway by the time we arrived 7 hours later she was as happy as can be, super excited to see us and very very happy to explore. she is spending the whole time smelling everything, all new smells. she has chased and seen a squirrel for the first time, smelt a skunk, chased some canadian geese and is fasinated by all the tons of frogs we have living here. What a fun adventure aye, she is as happy as can be and loving the beach here and now got into riding the bike with me. So as you can see the whole thing was a great experience and I thank you very very much for your excellent part of it all.
kindest regards, and woof woof, from Tui, Barb and family

July 2011 – Kerikeri to Alaska, USA – Labradoodle

Shadow arrived safely this afternoon, and she and I both owe a big thank you to all parties involved in making it happen. As soon as she was uncrated, we went for a walk around Lake Hood, the busiest float plane base in the world. She hopped in and out of the water, paddled around, watched planes landing and taking off and is well on her way to becoming an Alaskan doggie. Thanks so much for your kindnesses and help.
Cheers,
Sue

May 2011 – Auckland to Vancouver, Canada – DSH Cat

Hello Liz,

I just realized the rest of an email we sent you the other week was cut off. Paul and I wanted to thank you for all your efforts preparing Noelle for her trip to Canada. As said earlier, she was a bit "wired" when she arrived, but that is entirely to be expected and pretty much unavoidable.

She'd obviously been well cared for at Herne Bay and at Dogtainers though, because she looked healthy and robust: her coat looked good, she was fit and her energy level was good. Her pet carrier, as you prepared it, was tidy and "ship-shape" with all the stickers legible and applied just so to make them easy to see and read (because Noelle cannot speak for herself, these spoke for her -- so it is no small matter).

Thank you so much for all your efforts on her behalf, we appreciate it so very much.

She has settled into things here in Vancouver and is enjoying the spring/summer weather. You asked for a photo of her and I'll send one as soon as our belongings arrive and the computer with which I can upload photos with them.

We miss New Zealand and plan in time to return. We're enjoying this part of Canada too, especially this time of year. Vancouver is a wonderful city.
All the best to you and everyone at Dogtainers --
Paul and Lisa

April 2011 – Tauranga to Honolulu, USA – Labradoodle Pup

Aloha Liz, Yes, my sweet, cute puppy has arrived safe and sound. Once I got her out of her crate she had unending energy for hours, yet after a long walk, a play in some water, she is now sleeping at my feet!!!! What a sweet girl!!! Thank you sooooo much for all the love and attention you gave her. I appreciate you greatly,

Ocean

Thanks to everybody that had anything to do with Fancy’s flight. Next time please can we have a bigger crate so that I can go as well.

Cheers Lorayne

March 2011 – Christchurch to New York, USA - Golden Labrador

Hello Helena, Just to let you know that Argo arrived safely at JFK last night. Thank you for all your help everything went smoothly although I think there was some significant hassle collecting him, apparently it's no fun to drive between the terminals at JFK (Richard collected him, luckily had a friend with him to assist with navigating). It may be we were just unlucky with the particular personnel, but something to bear in mind if you have other clients arriving in to JFK in future.

Argo seems his usual self, not at all the worse for wear after his journey; just a bit hungry!

Thanks again,

Joanna

March 2011 – Auckland to San Francisco, USA – Sealyham Terrier Pup

George, got this from Laurie today and a text this morning, that was great after a night’s very broken sleep. Thanks for everything you did. I hope you enjoyed that jug or two. :)

Cheers Lorayne

Hi Lorayne, I'm glad you said something about texting you; I typed it up & had it ready to go once it got her. She was barking up a storm in the cargo area, and I leaned over to see her. She became quiet when I called her name. The pet exporters did a very good job with the water so that it wouldn't splash around, and they have her name all over the kennel so people can talk to her by name. I was surprised that she comes to her name already. I have her in with Madison and Alfie. I am so used to seeing Alfie that I was re-reminded of how young she is compared to Alfie. I fed them together and she and Alfie are napping. Lorayne I think she is very nice and I was surprised that she is sweet and outgoing. She already makes contact with your eyes and I think she will be easy to show and train her to look at the judge.

Take care, Laurie

February 2011 – Auckland to San Francisco, USA - Lab X Collie

Hi Helena ~ I just wanted to write and say huge thanks for all your help getting Sam to America. She arrived safely and had a pretty good time in San Fransisco. She is now in Canby Oregon where she will live for awhile. Again thanks for all your help. Leslie Shenberger

February 2011 – New Plymouth to Los Angeles, USA - Labradoodle

Hi Helena We are somewhat settled now and I can breathe and thank you properly. Thanks sooooooooooooooo much for doing everything to get Louie here in one piece. We had so much to deal with before we left and knowing you were there to fix any screwups (Air NZ's ears are burning) and help me get my head around what we needed to do just made it all the easier. It gave me total piece of mind knowing you were checking up on us and making sure we didn't forget anything. I feel your company provides excellent service and I would (and will) recommend you to anyone and everyone.

We were soooo ready to pick Louie up. I was quite nervous about picking him up. Mainly worried about being late and making him wait even longer. But also of the procedure. It turned out fine. We had to go to Qantas to pay our fees (was it US$35? I forget now), then were given the address of US Customs where we had to go to produce some more paperwork and answer some questions about our citizenship and whether he was for breeding or not. Then we went back to Qantas to show the stamped paperwork and get Louie. We went into the warehouse and looked around for his crate. It was quite noisy in there with forklifts moving around. Found him pretty quickly and watched him wag himself inside out. Nothing new there. He was super excited. We leashed him up and ran outside to some grass where we rolled around hugging and patting him. He was in great shape. Absolutely same dog we left 8 (10?) days earlier. We drove north - very glad to be leaving LA and stopped up the coast at a beach for a run around.

Thanks again for taking such good care of him. Louie is adjusting to life here fine - eating, sleeping, playing - hard life. Nothing new there. The leash laws are a lot tougher here but we've bought a book with all the good dog parks listed and we're exploring them all. We're finding lots of news fluffy friends to romp with on our morning walks at the local "dog" park and life is pretty good.

Take care of yourself, Deryn Campbell and family

December 2010 – Beach Haven to Honolulu, USA – 2 King Charles Cavalier Spaniels

Hi Liz,

Thank you so much for the detailed accounts of our dogs journey through MAF, the airport etc. It sounds like you really enjoy your job.

Candy is “my” dog and Scamp is Nelia’s. Candy is a gracious old lady who just wants to put her head in your lap and get a cuddle. She snores terribly, is incontinent but I love her to pieces. Of all the dogs I’ve had, she has by far the most wonderful nature of them all. Once I tried to get her interested in chasing and retrieving a tennis ball. No matter what I did, she just ignored it. Each time I threw it or rolled it past her, she would look up at me and her facial expression said “what do you think I am – a dog?”. She refuses to eat dog food of any description – she only eats “people” food. Once we tried to push the issue and gave her only dog food for 2 weeks. She went on a hunger strike and ate nothing whatsoever. When she was younger she was a bit more active (not much). Her blind eye was caused when she discovered and tried to attack an echidna in Australia. Echidna 1: Candy 0.

Scamp is… well… Scamp. Poor guy was the runt of the litter and I think this made him very insecure. Now he tries whatever he can to get attention. Not my kind of dog but he’s unique.

The dogs arrived safely and we picked them up yesterday morning before our flight to the Big Island. We had 15 minutes to exercise them before we left. When the dogs saw Nelia, they went beserk!. There was no way they were going to back in those cages for the interisland flight so we took them on the plane with us. (Well, at least that was the plan). They were not too keen to be shoved into the pet carriers but we got them in. Scamp made rather a fuss.

At the security checkpoint, we had to take them out of the “sherpa” carriers and had a bit of a time getting them back in. Then, Scamp escaped from his pet carrier twice while we were rushing to the gate to catch our flight. In the end though we all arrived safely at Hilo.

Hi Liz

I just wanted you to know that Jack is here safe and sound...thanks for all your help.

It was easy this end, we paid $40 dollars at the ANZ cargo place, walked across to customs who were fairly casual but checked the paper work, back to ANZ cargo place and walked away with Jack...no vet check required this end. They asked for no declaration about his cage/box. They only wanted ID.

Jack was a little bemused and did a very long wee but was no worse for wear.

Once again thanks for all your help.

Hi George, Sarah, and Liz,

I arrived safely last night and picked up Kona successfully this morning. Clyde met me and took me through both customs and animal quarantine. I had Kona by 8:20 without any problems.

Kona is fine here. He's familiarized himself with our house and yard. I think it might be another day or two before he feels completely settled, but I'm sure he'll be fine.

Thank you all so much for your help. I'll leave some positive feedback on your website soon.

Cheers, Kevin

Hi George and Liz,

Sorry I never got back to you yet George about Sages journey, I guess you always know things must have worked out then as people always seem to find time to bitch when needed hey! ha..

Anyways yeah sage did awesome, he was extremely happy to get out of his cage though of course, poor guy doesnt go to toilet at all for that period, he hates to do that in his own space. In fact doesnt even do poo's around his own house, has to get out and about for that, great for our cleaning up job, maybe not the neighbours.

We are quickly settling in to the new area of Smithers and should be moving into our new awesome 'home' in about a week and this town is SOOOO dog friendly. Its an awesome location for Sage with lots of forest to play in and soon the grand love of snow all around the house and lots of it.

So thank you again for your time setting up Sages journey and the extra personal touch you add to it to make me the owner, far more relaxed about his journey in a cage. When you came to pick him up and then let him ride in the front of the van really showed how you care about our beautiful family pets....

We will highly recommend you George if we have any other friends sending their beloveds from NZ.

Have an awesome day.

June 2010 – Nelson to Los Angeles, USA - Labrador Pup

Helena,

I meant to write you last night but I was having too much fun with Doppio...

He arrived without issue, and was actually sleeping in his cage when I finally got to him.

Qantas was quite helpful and I didn't take very long at all. We had to wait about 15min to get public health to fax over the release before we could go to customs (2 miles away). Customs was quite painless, and there was no wait at all, so I only took about 10min there before we were headed back to Qantas. I thought it would take longer at customs, especially because we got there at 9:30am, and they had been open for 90min by then. As it was it was all very easy. We got back to Qantas and it was only another 5 min before I was carrying him out to the car. All said and done it was under an hour, even with all the traffic.

Of note... There is a pet wash company about a mile down from Qantas (petwash.com) that has eveything needed if your pet does have a litle accident... We were lucky!!

He was a little groggy for the 1st few hours, but was bouncing around very quickly. I am sure he is going to enjoy his new home (although it will take a little to get used to the heat of summer).

Thanks again for all of your help. - George

February 2010 – Queenstown to Portland via Los Angeles, USA - Springer Spaniel

Hi George, Just a quick note from Fife and myself to say thanks for all your time and effort to make our big move very easy.

Fife seemed to travel very well, I had a brief time to let her out at Qantas Freight in LA, before we had to jump back into a taxis.

All your directions and time schedules were spot on, we took about 3.5 hours to get processsed and back on our connecting flight to Portland, all of 10 minutes at US Customs, took longer to find a taxis! One point that you may want to clarify with clients in the future is the time scheduling.

It wasn't until in your Auckland office that I found out to allow 4hours from landing to re-connecting with another flight.

As it turned out I was actually 5 minutes late booking into Alaskian Air, but they let me go through,if I had been delayed any more by Qantas/Customs/taxis drivers than I would have had to re-book another flight.

Sidenote: Alaskian Air didn't question the use of the wooden cage so in the future you could confirm them as wood friendly. Thanks again,

Chad and Fife.

Hello Shannah

I have Klaus now and he is doing really well. We are in Las Vegas now. I really enjoyed your email describing Klaus. It sounds just like him. He is always looking for opportunity to get his belly rubbed. I do walk him and he likes to pull as hard as he can, so if you run with him he will run. He really loves to run on the beach. I am a 100% satisfied with the service you provided. The lady at the pet motel was great and I could tell she really knows how to take care of dogs. It makes me happy to see Klaus show up waging his tail and barking for joy. His crate was fine and the news paper soak up the water. His water bowel was empty and I think it tipped over and that’s why it was wet inside. However Klaus was dry. So this is good. You guys did a great job getting him on his flight and taking care of all that paper work. I was able to get him at 10:00am. So he had to wait in his crate 3.5 more hours from when he landed. Your instructions about dealing with Qantas freight and Us customs is accurate. The workers at Qantas Freight get a D+ and US customs get a F-. US customs are very lazy and unprofessional. They have no regard for the welfare of the animal. They are not busy and they know I have a dog that’s been locked down for 18hrs and they don’t care. Qantas Freight could learn to be a little more sensitive of who the customer is. I don’t mean to rant on about peoples faults. I am sure you are aware of US Customs, they are an embarrassment to mankind. Well I have said enough I thank you again and again for being straight up with me and answering all my questions. I did look into other pet transport companies but they did not respond in a timely manner and they were not clear on the price. So I am happy that I did business with you and would recommend only you guys to any one who ever wants to ship a pet overseas.

Thank you once again and BRAVO! Best Regards Brian Hymas

September 2009 – North Shore to New York, USA – Bulldog

Hi George and Sharna, Well, as expected the tears have flowed over the past 12 hours. Tears of sadness to say goodbye to my grand-dog yesterday evening and then tears of joy when I got a phone call from Toyah to say that Nelson arrived safe and sound in San Francisco, that he was with Justyn (who was very excited to have his little dog back) and they were on their way by car back to Los Angeles. At first Nelson didn't recognise Justyn, I guess he was tired, confused and unable to pick anybody out in his surroundings (I know that feeling, I get the same feeling when I enter an airport after a flight). Anyway, Justyn spoke to him and hearing his voice, Nelson went "crazy". He hadn't messed in his cage at all so was dying for a wee, probably one of the first acts he did on US soil. Apart from that, I don't know what condition he was in but am fully confident that he was just as we left him, very fit and well. Justyn and Nelson fly together from LA to NY on a non-stop flight on Wed night (departing midnight) so the two of them will get off the flight together at 8am NY time. Nelson will then get his first ride in a New York yellow cab to his new home and will see his mummy when she gets home from work that night - more excitement! A very big THANK YOU to both of you for taking Nelson (and me) through the whole experience. I don't know who it was more traumatic for, but I suspect it was me. We have all done our jobs brilliantly and have a very happy dog reunited with his most favourite person in the world, his daddy as a result of our efforts. I will be very happy to recommend you and your services to anyone that I hear wants to relocate their treasured pets. Enjoy your trip to Thailand George and I really enjoyed meeting you Sharna. Thank you! Denise

November 2008 – Hastings to Los Angeles, USA – 2 Miniature Schnauzers

Hi George - Thanks for your email and thanks for your help getting "the girls" home safely. They seemed to have weathered the trip without any problems. Getting them out of Los Angeles went about as smoothly as one could hope. We arrived at Qantas Freight 2.5 hours after the plane touched down. Even though that amount of time had elapsed they had not received the paperwork for the dogs from the health department. They were kind enough to call and the faxed paperwork arrived quickly. Customs was relatively painless, taking only about 20 minutes and then back to get the dogs. So, we landed at 10:30 am and left LA at 2:00 pm. Considering we had flight complications (the connecting flight for my mom and sister-in-law, who were traveling with us, was cancelled), waited a rather long time to claim our baggage, had 4 humans to get through customs and immigration, rent a car and drive to and fro between Customs and Qantas Freight, we thought getting out of LA in 3.5 hours was not too bad. We drove home and arrived about 10:30 pm. So the travel day for us and the girls was about 42 hours long, but we all made it safely and soundly and we're happy about that. Thanks again to you and all those at Dogtainers for all your help! Kind regards, wendalyn

August 2007 – Napier to Ottawa, Canada – Siberian Husky

Hi George and Hayley! I am proud to say that Zoe did not mess her cage at all during the trip! I was very impressed! She was very happy to see me at the other end of her journey in that crate, I can assure you. I saw her being loaded onto the plane in Honolulu, which made me very relieved to know that she was on the same flight as me. When we got to Vancouver, I missed my connection because of customs delays, but as you said, there are many flights from Vancouver to Toronto every day and I ended up making it onto the next flight a half hour later and Zoe was just a half hour behind me. My sister was advised of what flight Zoe was on, which made things much easier for me when I arrived in Toronto. As promised, attached are a couple shots of Zoe relaxing at our new place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Thank you so much for all your help in ensuring Zoe travelled to Canada safely! She now stays in the crate when it's raining outside and I leave the house, so it's nice knowing I'm still using it and she doesn't mind staying in it. Take care! Kelly

March 2006 – Hamilton to Victoria, Canada – Australian Terrier

Hi George and co., Just wanted to thank you for all your help with regards to Ruby. She arrived safe and sound (1 1/2hr early even!) and perky as a parrot! Having the cage so early and her considering it "home" just made it all that much better! If ever you need a referral or so me positive advertising, just sing out! I have already been singing your praises. Thanks so much! Gail and Ruby!

March 2012 - Auckland to London Heathrow, UK - 2 Himalayan Cats

Hi Liz
Just a quick email to let you know that harley and sheba arrived safe and sound. They were desperate to get out once they realised it was us (but had to stay put for another hour and a half for the drive home) and are already settling in at my parents' place. Harley's first reaction upon being let out of her crate in the garden was to roll around for a few minutes! They seemed to cope well with it all.
We had nearly continuous cuddles all night (what with that and our jet lag we managed about three hours sleep!!) But it was great to see them so happy.
Thanks for all your help and sorry for my whinging earlier this year!! You did a great job and we're so happy to all be back together again!
I'll send some pictures soon!
Jo, Will, Harley and Sheba.

Hi Liz
Thank you so much for your lovely email, it was great to receive it and to hear how much you loved our Dutchy.

We picked him up from the airport on Tuesday and to say he was a bit tired is an understatement.

We wanted to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all of you for everything you did for Dutchy and for us as a family. Dont take this the wrong way, but we wont be using your services again, only because we are going to stay in the UK from now on but we MOST CERTAINLY WILL be recommending your company to everyone we speak to that wants to take their pets with them when they emigrate abroad.

Well I will close for now and as soon as we are more settled, I will send a picture of our Dutchy on the beach in Dunedin to you.

Thank you so much once again and take care.
Kindest regards

Hi George and Co

Just to let you know I have heard from Nat and 'the pack' arrived in Edinburgh as scheduled despite the ash cloud. Athena purred and rubbed herself all over Nat, and Tui demanded food. The dogs were really pleased to get out of the crates and have a run and see a bit of grass.

I will get some photos of them in their new home once we get it in June.
Thanks again

May 2011 – Wanganui to London Heathrow, United Kingdom – Birman Cat

Hi Liz

Harry arrived here in pretty much the same frame of mind he seems to have left you! He was really good and full of energy. A little 'miffed' that he had to wait for us to pay the courier before we could let him out and give him our total attention of course. He travelled very well indeed. Was hungry, energetic, talkative and very very pleased to see us on arrival. It was quite touching actually.

He was dry and clean as was his box and he seemed quite relaxed really. He has chosen to use the bottom half of his carry case as his bed from night one and when observing big planes flying over (and hearing them as background noise,) simply watches them and them gets on with whatever had his attention previously, which we take to suggest that he was not to upset by his flight.

He was 'rapped' to have his own blanket produced when he arrived. It was one I think we mentioned to you, that was designed to cover a sewing table he decided he liked to sit on to look out of the window in Napier and while it was being made he took ownership to the point of being in real danger of being sewn into it! I have a photo of him stretched out full length - plus a bit - on it, four hours after arrival, totally relaxed and at home again.

We were impressed by your companies attention to detail, and the ease of dealing with you, in the run up to sending Harry, and have accordingly found the experience a very agreeable and easy one and who knows it may well be that he will be demanding to come back with you again, in a couple of years or so!
Many thanks again
Peter

May 2011 – Waiheke Island to London, United Kingdom – Chesapeake Bay Labrador

Hi George

Just letting you know that Indy's flight went ok - no pees or poops, thank goodness! We did wonder if he'd figured out how to pee thorugh the wire end & imagined poor Harry the cat getting regular showers!

Anyway, Indy's getting settled here - despite the inevitble tiffs between dogs as they struggle to establish a new pack hierarchy. It's looking as though he may well become the pack leader. He's loving the walks and we're so pleased we bought him with us. It's wonderful to see him with my Ridgebacks who I left behind 4 years ago when I travelled to NZ. They make a very attractive pack!

Anyway, thank you for helping us get him over here. We'll certainly come to you again should we return to NZ.
Regards,
Ester Holder

March 2011 – Titirangi to London Heathrow, UK – Chihuahua

Hello there, Bindi is home now and settling in very well with the other dog we have (a llasa apso named Vinny) and they are quickly becoming friends. She seemed pretty happy when we got to see her in Heathrow, all the staff said shes been lovely and licking them all (as im sure you found out, she likes licking) so all went well, everybody was happy, shes passed with flying colours and im pretty sure she will get on swimmingly over here, she had eaten and things and you wouldnt guess she had just flown around half of the world. Since we were in London i went into the very posh shop Harrods and bought her a little pink dog coat too to mark her coming home, she seems to like it. I have even got her a little sheepskin rug to remind her of NZ. I am uploading some pictures onto facebook so have a look and see how she is getting on. I have gotta say a massive THANK YOU to yourself and George and anybody else who helped out with sorting out her flights. Its been a pleasure working with you all and amazing finally having my Bindi back. Thanks again. jonny.

Hi George + team, just a quick note to say that Daisy and I have safely arrived in Sweden. There was a bit of confusion around the processes to get her released, but it all went fine, and she's now running around enjoying the -4C temperatures and trying her paws on the first snow she's ever seen! She was hungry but didn't seem tired or stressed at all. "After" photos to come! Thank you all so much! Karin

December 2010 – Wellington to Berlin, Germany - Burmese/DSH X

Hello Helena,

many many thanks and greetings from Moka and me from Berlin! Moka has arrived in good spirits here in Germany. My parents picked her up in good health yet also with a few worried meowees. She ate well and was cuddly with my parents, but she also spent the first few days hiding in my parents' flat and keenly observed the door - she does miss her outside / garden. My parents live on the 8th floor and she hops onto the windowsilt and looks outside sometimes (onto snowy Berlin). I arrived a handful of days later (Monday night) and we had a playful and happy reunion; we been having lots of games since I got here last night and she sleeps with me on the bed purring away - no more hiding unless it is for a game when she shoots out of her little cave chasing after the ball. I am now looking for a flat of my own and I will give it everything to find a place with a garden (it is not easy in Berlin where apartments are the norm) - I will send you a photo when we get there.

Thank you soo much for making this a smooth move for Mokabär. It makes it much easier for her and for me to start a new life here in Germany knowing that she mastered the long journey without problems. I wish you and all the people from Dogtainers and Mowgli a wonderful summer, merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Alles Liebe ~ Cynthia and Moka

Hi Liz and George We collected Monty this morning without any problems. He was really pleased to see us(as were we) and apart from being VERY tired he seems remarkably unaffected. December 2010 – Auckland to London Heathrow, UK – 2 Jack Russells

Hi George,

The boys have arrived, fit, well, in high spirits and totally knackered. In short, I couldn't ask for any more (even the part about them being knackered - it means I'll have a quiet night with them tonight). I would like to take this opportunity to thank yourself and the rest of your team for a job well done, it has been a pleasure doing business with you. I'm a firm believer in stories having morals which we can all learn from and our story is no exception - it always pays to do business with people who care!!! Many years ago I was handed a business card, the product or service on sale is now nothing but a lost memory but I do remember what was written on the back of the card - "We have no problem with the man who's product is cheaper than ours, for he knows better than anyone the true worth of that product". Anyway, that's enough of my ramblings, once again thank you George.

October 2010 – Auckland to London Heathrow, UK - Mixed Breed Dog

Hi George and Co, Just wanted to email and let you know Diesel arrived here safe and sound on the 6th October. Everyone loved him at the Heathrow animal reception centre and I had no troubles collecting him. According to the girls at the reception centre he was totally relaxed and when they let him out of his crate he went to the toilet, had something to eat and promptly went back to sleep again :-) So no stresses from him. We then had to sit on the tube from heathrow to london centre. Diesel had a great time with this, the tube was extremely busy and he got the opportunity to make many friends along the way. And then was the 5 hour trip on the train to Edinburgh. Diesel also made lots of friends there, the mums found him great for entertaining their children and he also had a couple of old men bringing him sweets every half hour or so. So a HUGE thanks to you all. Although I was extremely stressed before Diesel's trip it was all unnessecary worry as everything went very well. I am so grateful, cannot thank you all enough,.

Kindest Regards Jaime Oswald and Diesel

September 2010 – Waitakare to Madrid, Spain - Crossbreed Dog

Hi George, Now that we have fully recovered from the jetlag I thought I would send you some more details of Rosie's pickup procedure in Madrid.

This info might be useful if anyone is flying pets to Madrid in the future.

On the whole it went pretty smoothly, although I was really happy to have had that extra day to sort things out, as it would have been a nightmare doing all this after a 29 hr trip. We arrived on the Tues and on Weds am we went back to the airport to find out how we went about meeting Rosie on Thursday. After a shuttle trip between terminals we finally found the Thai Air kiosk in Terminal 1.

The kiosk was closed as there were no flights arriving or leaving at that time. We went to general airport information who told us that we would need to go to cargo central.

We jumped back in the hire car and made a 10 min trip to the cargo area (I'm not sure how you would get there otherwise as it was a fair distance from the main terminals) and drove around the cargo area until we found the main building. We had to show our passports and get a security pass to get up to the third floor where the Thai Air office is.

The gentleman who worked there was incredibly helpful and wrote down exactly what we would have to do in what order the following day - thank goodness.

He wanted the Air Waybill number that we didn't have, but otherwise all was ok.

Firstly we would have to present at World Freight Services (the company dealing with Thai air freight) at 09.00 am (Rosie's flight was due in at 08.00) and they would give us some papers.

Their offices were in the same complex but some 500m up the road.

Then we would have to take the papers to the vet( equivalent to MAF ) on the second floor of the main building - through security again.

Once the vet had inspected Rosie and the paperwork and stamped it, we would take everything to the customs department on the ground floor for clearance, and finally we could go back to WFS to pick up Rosie. Well, I was glad of the heads up re procedure as it would have been very confusing otherwise!

We arrived a little early at WFS the following morning 08.40 as we were anxious to get the process underway. We were told to wait as they had not yet received paperwork from Thai Air re Rosie.

At about 09.40 the paperwork arrived and we paid aprox 72 euros.

We went up to the vets. They were very friendly, and one went off to inspect Rosie while the other completed the paperwork. One snag we hit at this point was that for some reason they needed proof of OUR flight details as we had not arrived on the same flight - NZ immigration hadn't stamped our passport coming out and Spain hadn't stamped them coming in!

Luckily Nick had our laptop with us, and they were very amiable about letting us use their office, so we set up and found all the flight details to give them. We left the vet's offices at 10.40 and went to customs.

Out of there at 11.00, back to WFS and had Rosie delivered out to us in her crate on a forklift at 11.20. All in all it went well and Rosie was back to her normal self fairly quickly, A big thank you George to you and your staff for the care and attention you showed us and Rosie. With kind regards,

Nick & Kirsten

August 2010 – Ranui to London Heathrow, UK – Staffordshire-Ridgeback X

Hi George, Just a note to confirm that Holly has arrived safe and sound. She was very pleased to see us, and you can imagine how pleased we were to see her. She was handed over in lovely condition and she has settled down remarkably well. The lady at the Auckland Kennel and Cattery was sorry to let her go and even the girls at Heathrow loved her! We would like to thank you most sincerely for making the whole process so painless. Take care, regards Anne & Eric

July 2010 – Dunedin to London Heathrow, UK – Border Collie X and Min. Schnauzer

Hi George and Liz Just wanted to let you know that Eddy and Maxine arrived safely today. The folks at JCS Cargo were great and delivered them from Heathrow to our front door this afternoon. They are both very tired but well and have settled in at our house. I will take some photos tomorrow when they are more awake and send them through for you. Thank you so much for all your efforts, concern, support and assistance during the last six months or so as we have prepared and then made the move here. We cannot express how much we appreciate you help. You made something, that could have been very stressful, easy and were never too busy to answer our many questions. I am sure Eddy and Maxine also greatly appreciate your efforts. Thanks again, Judy Voykovic

July 2010 – Auckland to Frankfurt, Germany – Bearded Collie

Dear George, I want to inform you about Toby's transport to Europe. He arrived to Frankfurt at 6 a.m. by the schedule. Everything went pretty much the way you described. People in Frankfurt were very helpful. My brother and father had just little problem in the animal station to get Toby from the cage. Ones they managed to get him out of the cage and put him on a lead he became friendly and jumped to the car - no problem. Toby adjusted here in Czech R. very well. Thank you very much for your help.

Best Regards Marketa Angelini

May 2010 - New Plymouth to Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Labrador X and DSH Cat

Hi George,

We took a few days to recover from our jetlag and enjoy the reunion with family and friends, but I can confirm we all arrived in great condition.

A short summary: The flights went fine, no problems at all.

In Amsterdam I collected both Luna and Bloem, who had also arrived in very good condition. Their cages were relatively clean; Luna had a wet patch on her blanket, and Bloem's newspapers were wet but still intact on the floor.

Their furs were clean and shining. I was surprised to find them so tidy, to be honest.

I'm very happy to report that they're doing great and are both really enjoying their new environment in the dutch countryside.

My kids were so happy to see their buddies again!

I will take some more time in the next few days to summarize the pet collection procedure in Amsterdam, as promised.

For now all is great. Thanks so much for your excellent service!

Cheers,

Maarten

May 2010 – Auckland to Paris, France – Labrador Bearded Collie X

Hello Helena.

Chenzy has arrived in France as if nothing happened at all!

He did not make any mess in the box, I guess he was on recycling mode!!! I guess he just slept. We saw Chenzy come off the airplane in Bangkok as we were in the bus in front of him, Coco spotted his Box.

Paris airport was a bit of a nightmare as he ended up in another building miles away from where the passenger airport was. I waited at Terminal 2 while my husband went to find him. He went to 5 offices before he managed to get all the things that he needed to get him out!

I did not really expect anything better at Charles de gaule! I knew that is the way the Parisians work! Apart from that, all was well he is a happy bunny and has a new Friend Harry!

Thanks so much.

Tamu and Chenzy

May 2010 - Napier to London Heathrow, UK – 2 Fox Terrier Spaniel X’s

Dear George

I remember you saying how disappointed you were when people don't let you know how their pets went after sending them away and here I am being very lax in doing that myself! Apologies!

First, when I collected Monty and Bella from Heathrow they were wildly excited and fine. As you said I should expect, they were dry and bright eyed and very pleased to see me again.

They have now settled down and have started to respond to a more disciplined routine and lots of exercise. We had to deal with them barking at anyone who came in or just made a sudden noise but at last we are all fine and I thank you so much for all your help in bringing them to England.

I have just received my belongings from the removal people but can't open them yet as my sister' house would overflow! When I am able to find the bits for my camera I will send you a photo of my two happy dogs.

Regards

Marian Pawson

January 2010 – Browns Bay to Novosibirsk, Siberia – German Sheepdog

Hi Shannah,

Just letting you know Zeus is in Novosibirsk now and is recovering well: The cage was clean, as well as Zeus! He has eaten a bit and was taken outside and felt quite comfortable outside actually. Then he took my husband for a few minutes run around the block. Ilia said he was quite shaky at the beginning (I certainly don;t blame him, I would be as well at -20...)Not sure if he is loving his new home, I have a feeling he'll be sleeping for a while... I can't wait to see him on Friday! Thank you guys! We will certainly take some pictures once we are all together and email them to you guys. I guess you all can relax now - this is a job really well done, Once again, huge thank you to all of you guys for making this transportation as smooth as possible for all of us!

Cheers Inna

December 2009 – Marton to London Heathrow, UK – Cavoodle

Hi Shannah

Milo and I arrived safely to London. Paul had already collected Milo when I arrived. He was happy, healthy, clean and dry and bouncing with energy!! He has settled in well and isn't at all bothered by the snow and the ice here!!! Santa even remembered to deliver him some Christmas treats, which he loves. Thank you for your professionalism, constant communication and your kindness towards both Milo and myself at what was a rather anxious time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services in the future.

Seasons greetings Sharon & Paul and family and a big woof woof from Milo!

February 2009 – Christchurch to Amsterdam, Netherlands – Kesshound

hello George and Hayley Peter and I wanted to thank you and your team for all the good work you did for Baco. Tuesday I called my dad and he told me that Baco came out of the cage as if he just went in there. he still had his voice and was happy as. You can understand how happy we were to hear that. George we like to thank you for all the calls and hard work you did. because we think you went way beyond what others would do. You stayed positive when things went touch. And the calls instead of just an email were much appriciated. This was also the reason why we decided to go for Dogtainers. Even though you are in Auckland and not in CHC. Hayley thank you for coming all the way to CHC and do a good job that everything went smootly. You made us feel more relaxed because I was very stressed that morning when we left the house. It was very nice to meet you. Everybody thank you very very much, keep up the good work!!!!

Warmest regards, Monique

July 2008 – Weymouth to Zurich, Switzerland – DSH Cat

Dear Gorge

Thank you very much for your great help to bring Pumba to Switzerland. my sister told me that it was very easy to pick him up and pumba was fine. he made a big piss in his box but apart from that he was fine and happy to get out. im back since sunday and when i saw Pumba he looked exactly the same like when i brought him to you.he loves his new home.he is running around loves to go out in the garden and he is the same cat like he was in new zealand.

i wanna thank you for all the good information you gave me and i really have to say i would choice you again to transport my cat. im really happy how good you informed me what i have to do with this paper you gave me was it so easy and you are so kind and helpful that made me feel like i really can ask every question doesnt matter is it a stupied one or not. you had always an answer. and when i was in your office i could see that you and your team really care about my cat and that isnt the money which is importent. you wanna bring my cat save to switzerland and thats what you did and i cant be more thankful for that. you know i was a little bit worrying about that long flight for Pumba but i see that he arrived safe no bloody feet or broken teeths he was just like he was.

June 2008 – Auckland to Stockholm, Sweden – Blue Heeler

Hi George,

Now we have had almost a week to settle in I thought I'd send you a pic of Pepper in her new home for your wall of fame. She loves the snow, something totally new to her. Also wanted to thank you, Hayley, and Michael for making the process of moving Pepper halfway around the globe as smooth and as worry free as possible. And although it was impossible for me not to worry about the whole trip and process once I saw how Pepper was after the trip I realised I shouldn't have worried so much. A tribute to you and your co-workers. Well thanks again, and 'll be sure to endorse your business to anyone that's looking at sending animals abroad from NZ. Guy, Lisa, & Pepper.

April 2008 – Auckland to Nice, France – English Bulldog X Terrier

Hi George,

I would like to thank you for the amazing job you did with shipping my dog ‘Dopes’ from New Zealand to France. After starting the process with another company who dropped the ball, I contacted you and your team; who with out hesitation took on the job which was that much harder with me already in France. You handled the job with professionalism and a very personal touch, for this I will always be great full and I know Dopes appreciated it as well. I can see you are an animal lover and care for the welfare of the animals in your care. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to others. It has been a real pleasure to deal with you and your team at Dogtainers air freight. Dopes arrived safely today as planned in perfect condition, in a clean and tidy cage. He showed no sign of distress or discomfort was looking well and was rather happy to see me to say the least. It is so great to have him back. Once he was at his new home the first thing he did was jump straight into the pool (he loves the water) we have two other dogs her, both females and younger, so I think he was trying to get away from the sexual harassment. I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received from you and your team. Yet again, thanks so much it has been a real pleasure to deal with you.

Kind regards Hamish

January 2008 – Auckland to Battersea, UK – English Bulldog

Hi everyone,

As promised I just wanted to let you all know that Roxy arrived to our address here in Battersea this morning at 6.30 am, safe and sound and in extremely good form. At the moment she is tearing around the house playing with a football she has found, and I see absolutely no change in the dog that left Auckland to the one here in London. She is completely happy and normal and it is obvious that she was well looked after on her journey here, starting in Auckland, through Bangkok and then from Lady Haye's kennels this morning. In fact I imagine she got far more sleep on the flights over and wasn't worried about ME in the slightest! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the work you have all done in getting her here. We have been kept well informed throughout about everything that would happen and from that standpoint it has been a stress free journey, from contacting Dogtainers way back last year through to Roxy's safe arrival here this morning. I wouldn't hesitate to move Roxy again through the combination of Dogtainers, Lady Haye's and Thai Airways. You have all been brilliant.

Cheers, Elaine & Tommie & Roxy

October 2007 – Muriwai to Frankfurt, Germany – DSH Cat

Hi George,

Sweetie has arrived in Germany. She is absolute fine and eager to reconnoitre her new home thoroughly. Although sometimes little bit anxious she develops well and within shortest time she will have taken posession of that flat the same way she did in Muriwai. Already she has seized her scratching pole and she loves coming around and to play. Altogether I love to state she is absolutely relaxed. There is only one reason for it, as she is usually a reluctant cat: The journey must have been really smooth, as she arrived wearily, but content. You can take the credit for making things happen so well. You have left no open questions, no concerns and given wonderful recommendations regarding the transportation airline. So thanks to Thai Cargo, too. If there is a next time I will not hesitate to do the pet transport organisation with Dogtainers again.

Thanks a lot and very best regards Markus

2005 – Manchester – 2 Bichon Frise and 1 Cocker Spaniel

Please have a great Easter and thanks again .

June 2004 – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Wheaten Terrier

Well we have arrived safe and well. We have been here a week now and all settled in. Zeus arrived well although a little grumpy. He did the longest wee in the history of dogs I think. He held on the whole time. But I am glad he was not more upset. I think having had the cage at home first was a very good idea. Anyway thanks for everything. My stuff arrived safe and well too. Thanks to Joe too for that. I am very thankful for your help and for calming me down when I was panicking Thanks again and hope to meet again.

Wendy...

2004 – Scotland - Labrador

Well, what a rollercoater of emotions on wednesday, as you can imagine. Tess arrived safe and well, and coped with the journey extremely well. She slept the 3 hour drive home from the airport. It feels very strange to have her back with us and she's settling in well in her (and our) new home. But george the real reason for this e-mail is that Brad and I can't thank you enough for all your help in bringing her safely to us. We would have been lost without you, we felt very confident in the knowledge that you were arranging her shipment and knew she would be well cared for in your hands. Thankyou for being patient with us throughout this last year and working on our behalf with MAF and vets. We will never forget how much you helped us, and understood how much she means to us. Tess sends her love and huge thankyou for reuniting her with her mum and dad. We have since spoken to Wally who has missed the companionship so much he has got himself a dalmation! Thank you George

Lots of love S, B and Tess xx

July 2011 - Blenheim to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Jack Russell

hi Liz,

thanks very much,
Clarisse, Allan and Millie :)

Argentina, Buenos Aires Labrador X

Back in Christchurch now. I don't know if you got my txt message on your mobile phone. I got now the confirmation now that Karto arrived to Buenos Aires in full shape, without problems and is getting used to the new lifestyle over there. All good.

The only problem was with Argentinean customs, they were looking to get some money from Nerida and ended up charging some non very coherent fees. They considered Karto was an import then pay import fees (I wonder where they got a valuation from since he's not a pedigree dog). I don't know exactly how much she ended up paying and that's very "negotiable" depending on who is on duty. Probably the only important thing for you to know is that Lan Chile cargo staff were completely useless and non-coheperative then making everything harder to collect Karto and clear him from customs.

Other than that everything is ok, back here I'm missing Karto a lot but also know that he's muche better now over there.

Falkland Islands 2 Labradors

Hi George and everyone at Dogfreight!

Just a quick note to let you know that our dogs arrrived at Stanley yesterday with no worries. They were both in good spirits, and apart from being thirsty and hungry (of course!), they were fine. Both cages had their water funnels and tubes broken when they arrived....perhaps part of the cargo handling from Santiago-Stanley?

We can't thank you enough for all the effort and care you have put into their transport.

We'll be in touch when it's closer to the time for them to return to NZ.

All the best,
Zoe and Mark, Captain and Tui

Brazil Jack Russells x2

Hi George,

Where can I start!!!!! Word’s can not describe how much I appreciate everything you have done for me and the dogs since my first phone call; all the patience and explanations and most of all the trust that I had on you guys....could not had my sons in better hands....the dog’s came out a little tired, however that was to be expected, both in good shape and happy to see me.

I was so emotional to see them that I start to cry....The only part that took while was here in Sao Paulo with Brazilian MAF, but thanks God and you guys all the papers work in order which reflected the amount of work you had put in and your expertise.

I thank you again from the bottom of my heart... I can not thank you enough...

All the best
Camila, Jack and Nego

Cocker Spaniel Dear Hayley, George and Mike: Well Zach arrived ok in Brasil ... but he did miss his flight in Buenos Aires and only got to Sao Paulo at 11pm (my flight landed at 8pm) ... and as expected the saga started ... it took us until 3am to release him from the cargo area .... the problem is the bureaucracy and the time of arrival ... there are so many people you have to talk to and so many documents to clear ... and then the system goes through maintenance every day from 1am to 3am!!!!!! But after 3am ZAch was a free dog to go .... he was fine ... cage was clean as it left AKD ... and after a few minutes and a very long pee he was himself again ... The only thing i can think of is that the Aerolineas crew in BR said Zach should have been transported as accompanied luggage ... so I don´t know why the crew in NZ wouldn´t take him as such .... i think basically they are a bit disorganised ... but from my point of view i can only thank you for organising everything and for making his journey the least stressful possible ... Best regards, Daniela

Cat Just to say thanks and to let you know that Romeo arrived in excellent condition and spirits. Claiming him at the airport was quite an experience. We left home at 5.30 pm....got there in plenty of time. He landed at 8pm.......and then the saga began! We finally liberated him from the airport at @ 2am and got back home around 3. Just an example of Brazilian red tape. But he is settling in well and we were very happy with the way he looked after his trip. He showed no signs of stress and has resumed his normal affectionate behaviour. Thanks again Shelley
