Recently Pet Transport NZ had the pleasure to transport a competitive sled team of Husky dogs, 8 in total, from Alfredton, to San Francisco. Here they are at home on their farm in New Zealand, just south of Ekatahuna just before they departed the Wanganui-Manawatu region to relocate to Reno. Pack owner Mark Roberts is a nutritional scientist who just completed his PHD at Massey University School of Veterinary Science and College of Sciences where he focused his studies on the distinctive diets of dogs. Specifically, his research looked into the effects of dry commercial food in domestic dogs. Mark orients most of his work around wolves, which he then relates back to domesticated dog breeds. Whilst transporting dogs to the USA is part of our day to day, and flying Huskies overseas is fairly routine, 8 at once and team of sled racers at that, certainly drew the attention of our travel consultants and Air New Zealand ground crew who were on hand to assist with cargo loading on departure day. We are grateful to Mark for sharing his photography of his 8 dog's travel experience from New Zealand to USA, including pictures of them settled into San Francisco life. We wish them all the best for their new life and future sled racing success. You can learn more about Mark and his work at his website: www.k9natural.com At Pet Transport NZ we specialise in transporting groups of pets together, including troupes of working dogs, agility trial teams, NZDF dogs, Blind Foundation Guide Dogs and other pets which may require multiple clearances through different countries. The USA is just one of many international locations we service. If you would like to discuss the import, export or domestic transport of your pets, please contact us today.

At Pet Transport NZ, one international pet shipping client we are the most proud to have serviced for years, is the Blind Foundation; specifically, the Guide Dogs chapter. One of our senior interntaional pet travel consultants, Michael, received an award for his help in bringing a US born dog, Eudora (below right), into New Zealand this year! The Blind Foundation provide amazing services to the community and we love moving their dogs overseas. Earlier this year we orchestrated the move of Eudora the German Shepherd from America to NZ and back again. Eudora is a world famous Guide Dog we helped fly all the way from New York to New Zealand. She shares her special skills at work by helping other Guide Dogs learn by example from an awesome assistance dog.. Even more exciting, once here, Eudora had her first successful puppy – and we couldn’t be more proud! New Zealand offers world-renown Guide Dog training facilities in South Auckland and when we get the call that more pups need to move so they can start their lives helping others – we jump in to action! We love working with these very clever dogs and feel happy knowing we have helped new guide dogs find international fur-ever homes all over the world!
We are the only pet transporter in New Zealand that can organise return trips and import pets from overseas into NZ. It is tricky though, so it pays to get in touch early and start planning your pet travel from overseas now! We look forward to hearing from you soon.
